The End of Red vs Blue

Red vs Blue: The Blood Gulch Chronicles is a web series I have mentioned several times in the run of this blog. It’s classified as “Machinima” which is the use of a pre-existing engine (video games) to create new video content. Basically they just move their heads up and down, and add hysterical dialog over the top.
After four years of producing funny, original content, the gang from Austin, Texas’ Rooster Teeth Productions are putting the final touches on the web series. The writers are currently in production of the last seven episodes and trying to wrap up any loose ends and plot points after 100 episodes.
While The Blood Gulch Chronicles may be ending, I doubt that it will be the last time we see the snarky characters of the series. With Halo 3 looming on the horizon it’s very possible that Church, Caboose, Tex, Griff, Sarge, and the rest of the gang may make a reappearance in another series using the new game engine.
Also take into consideration that the announcement was made on April 1 (April Fools Day), but there has been no retraction of the statement. Being that the series premiered on the same day (making 4-1-07 their 4th anniversary), it’s very likely that the announcement is the real deal.
We’ll have to see. Until then, don’t be a dirty shisno! Hop on your Puma and watch the last adventures of the Blood Gulch Chronicles. You can watch episode 93 here.
