Bruce Campbell Needs Old Spice

I saw this video last night during [adult swim] and it stopped me dead in my tracks crossing the room. This is the one and only Bruce “Boomstick” Campbell (Evil Dead, Army of Darkness) performing his first commercial as the new spokesman for Old Spice.

Yes, Old Spice. Here’s the quote from the Official Bruce Campbell website:

Raise your hand if you saw this one coming. Bruce Campbell is the new spokesman for Old Spice.

What!?

All I know is that I wore Old Spice deodorant while we were making My Name Is Bruce, and all of a sudden, Bruce is the spokesman. Hmmm…

Hella awesome.

NOTE: Take notice of the set in the background. The painting features a giant sea creature attacking a boat as he seemingly walks around the circular set. You can also spot a chainsaw by the fireplace in the very beginning. This commercial has a lot going on!

This is hilarious! Thanks for posting it. I don't know if it will sell a lot of Old Spice, but it's a brilliant ad, nevertheless. :-)

I'm enthralled. I cannot believe Bruce Campbell aged into such a distinguished-looking guy. Also, the painting is incredibly cool. And I want to know how many takes they did because that "it" monologue seems like it may trip up the tongue.

One more thing: do they have mics by that chair or what?? It's REALLY SQUEAKY!!

Lol.. I think they "enhanced" the sound to give it that last little bit of awkwardness.

Oh, and if you look REAL close, you'll see the Necronomicon (from Evil Dead) on the bookshelf.

A Brisco County Jr. Movie would be pretty cool really. I would guess it would have to be a made for TV movie. Heck maybe a little Mini Series catching us up on what Brisco has been up to since we last saw him.

If they can make a movie out of Firefly and Sex and the City, I think they can pull off a Brisco County Jr movie. At least it'd make a good direct to DVD film. :D
