Heroes: Nothing to Hide

In running with the new theme, I’m trying my hand at recaps, so since I’ve recently been wetting my panties about Heroes, I’m picking this show to do the first one.

Spoilers after this point!

The biggest milestone this episode? The Flyer (Nathan Patrelli) is married to Eve, the crazy psycho from Melrose Place! Okay, she’s in a wheelchair and it’s his fault, but whatever. I bet she goes crazy and has a bitch-slap fight with Niki in the third season. That would be hella-awesome.

Anyway, so actually the biggest reveal was that Niki/Jessica’s little boy is a Hero himself. Not quite sure what his exact powers are, but it’s obviously electrical based. His choice of using an out of order phone to call his not-Mom was genius!

The Leech (Peter Patrelli) seems to also have the ability of not only using others powers, but retaining them a bit: the “shared dream” with Simone’s dying grandfather.

And we have our first villain. The fire guy, who was tracked down by Agent Weiss from Alias. One key line he said in the show struck a cord: He could nuke a city. I believe we may have found who is ultimately responsible for causing the explosion in NYC that Hiro saw in the future!

There are some theories being tossed around the net, one of the major ideas being that Peter is Sylar, but I don’t think this is likely. Peter was contacted by futureHiro directly, and so far his actions have set off other events that are already in motion.

One of these popped up tonight. In the last episode, Peter told Hiro and his friend to come to New York City to meet with them. This placed them at the point where Hiro could help save Niki’s husband and child from the car explosion in the desert. Otherwise the father would have died, and possibly the kid as well.

Next week brings some revelations about Niki and the what her powers can really do, Suresh returning to India, and the further adventures of Hiro and Ando, Japanese Time Traveling Warriors from the Future!

God I love this show.
