No Vista For You!

Yeah, turns out I AM a glutton for punishment. Windows Vista was pretty, it had all sorts of new features and toys, and made me giddy for the upcoming release at the end of the year.
But alas, it was still a beta, and my sound card no-worky for some reason. It worked, if you define working as “constantly skipping and scratching at a speed much slower than recorded”, then yeah it worked… Poorly.
The new interface is badass, and some of the re-vamped features were just eye candy galore. Just wait until you see what Solitaire looks like now! Don’t even get me started on Minesweeper. (Hahaha)
I’m back on WindowsXP, freshly re-installed and running smoother than before. To replace the feeling of losing the coolness that was the Vista UI, I installed Stardock’s WindowBlinds and LogonStudio. WindowBlinds replaces the basic window desktop, or “skins” it to look different using themes. To my delight, the newest version included a Vista-like skin. LogonStudio replaces the generic “WindowsXP” logon and welcome screen.
Microsoft Windows Vista is set to be released at the end of this year.
