I Love MySpace.com
Yes, I’m hopelessly addicted to a silly peer networking site. I actually have had an profile on their website since the beginning of this year, just didn’t really do anything with it (or share it, for that matter). I had always kind of written the site off as being silly, like Friendster, which has gotten me pretty much zip for all the work you put into it.
During the ALL SMOKED OUT show last month, we actually had several people contact us from MySpace or people that came to the show that heard about it on that website. Strange enough, I hadn’t put up anything about the show on their, it was some of the artists that had. I couldn’t believe a website like that would be as widespread to have heard about our show, but sure enough they had.
So after the show I went to work updating my profile, as well as creating one for One Fry Short Productions itself, and one for DJ Big G. I added some of the artists from the show to my “Friends” list and suddenly the page blew up.
Not in the bad way, of course, just with activity. In the past month I have heard from three people I went to high school with that I haven’t seen/talked to in 5-10 years that contact me through MySpace. It’s really proven to be a great asset in catching up with some of those old friends. I even had one of my ex-girlfriends look me up!
If anyone has a MySpace account, add me to your friends list! Here’s the link to some of my profiles:
