Spammers
I’ve mentioned in a past few articles about my extreme distaste for spammers. Since my upgrade to WordPress and the installation of a few spam filter plugins, I’ve had to deal with spam comments less and less, but they still come through.
Now I realize that all they are is just random bots farming comment sections of blogs, but it’s still annoying. Now rather than tying up my time deleting comments, it’s tying up my email bandwidth. So far in the past three days I’ve received over 250 Spam Comments on my website, and how many actually got posted? 0.
So to take further action, i’ve closed comments on all articles older than 60 days. That should severely limit the amount of spam comment hits i’ve been getting. Anything older than 60 days shouldn’t be getting comments anyway. It’s old news.
