Josh Rouse Is SO 1972

I just love the iTunes Music Store. A couple weeks ago with the release of the newest version of the program they started offering a free track on their music store once a week. They had Foo Fighters and a couple other artists, but this week they put up a track by the artist Josh Rouse.

I had never heard of him before, and never passing up something free–ESPECIALLY music–I downloaded the track and immediately loved the song.

The song is called “James” and is still available on the music store until Tuesday, when they put up the next track. I actually just bought the whole album off the music store (for about $9) and it’s even better than I expected.

The album is called 1972, and that’s exactly what it is as you can see by the groovy picture to your left. No, no, it’s not what you’re thinking. No disco, it’s more funky stuff. Listening to “James” this is obvious, but also check out my new favorite “Comeback (Light Therapy)” as well. “Sunshine (Come On Lady)” is also very good. And no, not all the songs have parenthetical titles. :)

Remember, “James” by Josh Rouse is only free until Tuesday (May 25, 2004 for archival purposes).

Damn, I missed that one! I’ve been really digging the freebies lately. iTunes will be the death of my bank account…
