“Jimmy Kimmel Live” Renewed

‘Kimmel Live’ renewed

LOS ANGELES, California (Hollywood Reporter) — ABC has picked up its late-night show “Jimmy Kimmel Live” through the 2004-05 season.

“This is great news, as I am saving up to buy a new truck,” Kimmel deadpanned about the third-season pickup of his show.

The pickup comes on the heels of the live talk show’s respectable performance during its first November sweep when the series posted a ratings growth vs. the May sweep in several key categories.

Also in November, the show, which premiered January 26 after the Super Bowl, hit all-time weekly highs in the male demos during the Thanksgiving week.

Meanwhile, ABC has cut back the orders for freshman drama “10-8″ and midseason comedy “The Big House,” and has ordered four additional half-hours of the hit comedy “My Wife and Kids.” The order for “10-8,” starring Danny Nucci and Ernie Hudson, has been cut from 22 to 15 episodes, while the 13-episode pickup for comedy “The Big House,” toplined by Kevin Hart, is being trimmed to six segments.
