‘Futurama’ heads off into the future

A prediction: Viewers eons from now will give “Futurama” the credit it deserves today. Oh, it may not make them laugh. But when the show’s time finally comes, this shrewd cartoon series could well be endorsed as an accurate picture of life, circa A.D. 3000. For now, however, we ancients of the 21st century who love it will continue to celebrate “Futurama” as unbeatable satire — even as its prime-time cycle nears an end. Fortunately, next month, the second “Futurama” season will be released on DVD by Fox Home Entertainment. “Futurama” reruns air on Cartoon Network at 11 p.m. EDT Sundays through Thursdays as part of that network’s “Adult Swim” program block. And on the Fox network, the final three new “Futurama” episodes can be seen Sundays at 7 p.m. through Aug. 10.

to quote homer: so. much. rage.

i truly hate FOX. they take a perfectly good show (futurama, greg the bunny, family guy), move it around the schedule, don’t promote it after the initial blitz, and then wonder why no one watches.

or better yet, they put it on sundays at 7PM. you might as well kiss your show goodbye and start auditioning for new pilots when they give you that slot. why? because football (or whatever, other worthless sport is on sunday afternoon) inevitably goes long and pre-empts the 7:00 (but rarely the 7:30) timeslot. and then the execs wonder “why does this show have no ratings? it’s on right after football!”

bastards.

What I heard is that the Fox executives had a vendetta with the show. They obviously prefered to dumb down Fox’s programing to their level (Big Fat Abnoxious Fiances is about the limit of their intelligence).

This makes NO business sense Fox, to make such a great show, with the initial investment and then masochitically sacrifice it for your disagreements with the creators. I don’t care about the specifics really, you suck and I am now to be considered on a strick boycot of anything Fox except Groening stuff (including News Corp, Valvoline, KFC, and all other related companies).

That man has made the company more money than any of the buffoons who are at the head of Fox and are so out of touch they are still jumping on the “reality bandwagon”.

FOX SHALL PAY!!
