New Lara Croft Uncertain?
Uncertainty looms over the launch date of Eidos’ new Lara Croft video game, the Reuters news service reported. Lara Croft: The Angel of Darkness has been delayed twice and is currently slated for release June 20. But that’s looking less likely, a company executive told Reuters.
“June 20th is the latest date, but there are a few bugs that need to be ironed out as we rush to the finish line,” Stuart Cruickshank, chief financial officer for Eidos, told the wire service. “It’s in the ‘maybe or maybe not’ mode.”
Cruickshank said that he was confident the game would hit store shelves in the next two weeks. “We don’t see a fourth delay,” he said, adding the company has been providing retailers with “minute by minute” release updates. The game, which was developed for the PlayStation 2 and the PC, is undergoing final checks to determine if there are any last-minute bugs to rectify, the wire service reported.
