Kutcher jokes, Snoop satirizes for MTV shows
NEW YORK — Ashton Kutcher and rapper Snoop Dogg have each landed their own MTV series. Both are part of a batch of new programming coming to the cable network beginning in the spring. True to the home of “The Real World” and “The Osbournes,” reality remains the dominant theme of the schedule; none of the planned offerings is scripted. Kutcher (”That ’70s Show”) will star and produce in “Punk’d,” a sketch comedy series that plays practical jokes on celebrities. The first of eight episodes airs at 10:30 p.m. March 17. Snoop Dogg will perform and act in his own variety series, “Doggy Fizzle Televizzle,” which will satirize pop culture from a hip-hop perspective. The show begins its six-episode run June 22. The “Doggy” pilot aired on MTV in December.
