Wedding Rings Recovered from Trash
Stafford-December 21, 2002 Just call them lord of the rings.Public works employees and landfill workers in Ocean County managed to find wedding rings Jacqueline Orapello accidentally threw out November 20th.
The Stafford Township woman had taken the rings off that morning because her fingers were swollen.
She placed them in a paper towel, which she mistakenly threw out after cleaning her dog’s food dish.
Orapello called public works and the trash truck that had gone through her neighborhood was pulled off its route and dispatched to the landfill.
The searchers sifted through 500 to 600 bags of trash before finding the rings.
It was the second time Orapello lost her wedding ring. Six years ago, it fell into her grandmother’s casket at her viewing.
