Friends Season 10

‘Friends’ sign for another final season

Cast gets $1 million each per episode

‘Friends’ will return for at least one more season.

NEW YORK (AP) — NBC’s six “Friends” aren’t breaking up yet. The network announced a surprise agreement Saturday to keep the top-rated comedy on the air for another season.

No details of the agreement between the network, Warner Brothers Productions, Bright/Kauffman/Crane Productions and the six lead actors were released. But NBC spokeswoman Rebecca Marks confirmed the deal had been sealed early Saturday morning.

It was a welcome holiday present for NBC, which counts on “Friends” to kick off its powerful Thursday night lineup each week.

Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry and David Schwimmer are all being paid $1 million per episode this season.

When NBC announced in February that “Friends” would be back this fall, it was said then that this would be the final year.

But in the months to follow, NBC Entertainment President Jeff Zucker made certain the door remained open to a return. He consistently refused, in speaking publicly, to rule out the chance it would return.

Some of the actors had also seemed warm to the idea. Kudrow, interviewed on NBC’s “Today” show in recent weeks, noted how the sitcom filming schedule, with its regular hours, was ideal for a young mother.

Although Aniston drew strong reviews last summer for her performance in “The Good Girl,” none of the actors has established a solid career in the movies.

The last two seasons have been a revival for the series. It drew strong reviews last season and was the No. 1 series of the year in the Nielsen Media Research rankings. “Friends” also won its first Emmy as best comedy series and Aniston won for best comedy actress.

The series is generally the highest-rated comedy this year, although the CBS drama, “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation,” has supplanted it as television’s most popular show.

This season Aniston’s character, Rachel, is dealing with motherhood after giving birth last May. Cox and Perry’s characters, a married couple, had to deal with a separation when his job transferred him to the Midwest.

Although the same thing was said when February’s agreement was reached, Marks said Saturday that “I’m sure it will be the final year.”

The series of six close-knit pals living in New York City spawned many imitators at its initial success — including on NBC — but no show could match its formula for success. The show is already being seen frequently in syndication.

Here is what i think…

- Racheal and Joey, they just dont click. I think they are going to think it was a mistake and then try to hide it from Ross.

- Ross, as the eternal looser, will soome how get dumped or blow things up with charlie. He wont know about Racheal and Joey but eventually finds out.

- Monica and Chandler, well they became boring after the wedding so i really dont care what happens. They have each other…

- I really hope it works out for Phoebe and Mike. But i have doubts.

- Final Word: The main story (if there was any!!) has always been about Ross and Racheal. The first episodes shows it all… and all the subsequent seasons. I have a strong bet that they are going to end up together. Monica and Chandler addopt a baby. Phoebe might split up with Mike but i think eventually get together and get married. Joey… i hope he finds someone. (How about that actress he really liked who left for NY??!!)

Thats it from me…

I think that Joey and Rachel should go out, Ross should go out with Charlie and then dump her beacuse he is still in love with Rachel. Ross then talks with Rachel and the 2 end up having sex and get back together. Monica and Chandler should stay together but try to spice up there relationship, and David should keep coming back for Phobie but she says she loves Mike. They then plan to get married but he kisses Charlie and Joey says he loves Phobie.

Episode: The One With The Cheap Wedding Part II
All of the friends are shocked that Phoebe says no and it makes them re-examine their own relationships. Through a series of flashbacks Chandler and Monica (who have been struggling with baby issues) realize they don’t need to do strange gym classes, they just need to love the baby. Rachel and Ross realize they are deeply in love and get back together. Joey realizes he loves sandwiches and goes to get one (he doesn’t however, realize he’s losing Rachel). and phoebe? Well it seems she got lost in all the confusion and no one can find her… to be continued…

Nah, I doubt that seriously Christi.. Each cast member is getting a cool $1 mil for each episode they film, so I would imagine Matt LeBlanc wants every dollar of that. Besides, what would a last season of Friends be without Joey?

I would guess to say that “Joey” won’t even begin casting/pre-production until near the end of the season, if not after that.

I think the final season will be the best! Eventually, Ross and Rachel will get back together, Chandler and Monica will have a baby (adopted or otherwise), Phoebe will marry Mike. The one who’s left (Joey) will continue his life in the next sitcom ‘Joey’. I trust the writers of the show since they have managed to keep the comedic levels of the show to a peak since the first season. And I hope they’ll do their best in the years ahead…….

I’m just as anxious to have the new shows start up again. From what i’ve heard they’ve already filmed the last episode and wrapped the show. For the past two weeks NBC has been running the “Viewer’s Choice” episodes, which I believe is supposed to run for six weeks, hence the “six favorite episodes” they talk about.

Have patience, it’ll come back soon and will make everyone happy. I heard the last episode was just a giant tear-jerker. We’ll see! May is coming soon and that means the return of Sweeps and all the season/series finales.

Friends have been with me for a couple of years now, and I think we should all appreciate what they have been doing, but all things must come to an end and so is this beautiful thing that happened to all of us. I seriously think that ending it now is the best thing to do, before people start to get “bored” with another season, plus its good for the actors to concentrate on other things going on in their careers.
I will quote Conan O’Brien : “Friends gang, thank you for doing it!!!”
